Greetings fellow mosaicists!

Summer is nearly gone (heck the Ex has already started) and many of us have started planning our fall projects.

What are your fall goals? New techniques? New materials? Simply carving time out for yourself & maybe a friend?

Personally, I am looking forward to finally squishing an art class into my crazy schedule this fall. I am excited about stretching myself & learning some new skills (that I will surely be passing on to MY students).

Our new schedule starts Sept 18th and should make it even easier for you to find time to meet YOUR goals.

Tuesdays 6:30-9
Wednesdays 6:30-9
Thursdays 6:30-9
Fridays 1-3:30
Saturdays 10-12:30
Saturdays 1-3:30

And a big welcome back to Patrizia Brasch from her summer vacation. She will once again be instructing at Mosaic Beach Studio this fall. You can find her at the studio from 12-9 on Wednesdays starting Sept 19th & she will be running our Wednesday evening classes through the fall.

Goldlinks are here, and so are their Iridium pals.
Phew, it has been a wait but well worth it! They have finally arrived in all their glory. 9 shades of Goldlink and 7 shades of Iridium are sure to please everyone. We've selected shades that accent the vitreous glass we already sell. And they are available at GREAT prices in full sheets of 225 tiles & 25 tile mini-sheets. You have GOT to check these out. Even a little accent has a wonderful effect on your mosaics.

Finally, a word on my greeting. Those of us in the mosaic community often find ourselves at a loss to describe ourselves & our work. Are we mosaicers, mosaickers, mosaicists? Have I mosaiced something? Am I mosaicking? Is it even a verb or simply a noun? How do I conjugate it???

NOW, the question has been answered by our resident grammar expert Diane Harris. She reports that her research results on our little word are as follows:

Yes, it is a verb: I mosaic, you mosaic, he mosaics, etc.
past tense: mosaicked
present participle: mosaicking
AND there is also a noun for the person who mosaics: a mosaicist!

So now that we all know how to describe ourselves and our work....Happy Mosaicking!
